Well, the dem's are scaring me for a whole other reason... See I've been kind of a newshound since pretty much 9/11, around there so I've been trying to pay attention. (Hell, I've read the 9/11 Commision report this past weekend and that was a HEAVY read, and I do mean HEAVY...) But I recall back in the spring, shortly after the dems decided that Kerry is their man and the gas prices were starting to skyrocket. We have some oils in the oil reserves and Kerry said something to effect of "Bush give us those oils now" nevermind that it would probably bump it down two cents or so. But what if the terrorists hit the OPEC gas countries and we got no gas because we let the oils out of the oil reserve, or best scenario, just come up short?

Another instant was recently, (and this lead me to read the 9/11 Commision Report) was when the talks was about the Commision recommendations. Kerry came out and said that if he is the Prez he'd sign all of the reccomendations in right away. I thought why? Then when I read the book, I saw and felt that most of the recommendations, I don't think I would want them see signed into law by executive order because most of them is not fleshed out and doesn't have the feel of being completely thought out throughly. One I would agree should be signed into by executive order is the issue of the incoming administration and the outgoing administration, talking over of what to expect from the Oval Office, Issues in foreign relations, yada, yada, yada, that I would say, "I'm executive ordering that." Most of the rest though, I would feel a lot better if it was thrown out to the congressman and the senators, and let them hash it out, and see what their thoughts are.

So Kerry lost two points there with me.

    Just my .02 cents...

I've actually been undecided this year, for the first time. I have a history of voting Democrat, even in 2000, and I wasn't thrilled with Gore. Also, I'd wished my first time voting Republican (if ever) could've been for John McCain. If I can in this district, I may do my first write-in vote, but I'm still not sure (and, if I'd registered in 1980, I was going to bypass "throwing away a vote" for no-chance John Anderson, and vote, unhappily, for Carter to keep Reagan out).

Irony is, in the pre 9/11 days, when 2004 possibilities were being thrown around, I was really hoping John Kerry would get the nod, my respecting his anti-Vietnam war stance more than those that didn't see that first-hand (still do). But I'm not pleased whenever he seems to be placating the Dean wing of his party, and get annoyed at Bush when he tries to stop gay marriage (for a straight guy not looking for marriage anytime soon, I've been passionate about the issue). And I'm still not sure if a write-in is a wasted vote.

I just refuse to not vote in presidential elections.
